Amitabh Bachchan, Rishi Kapoor bring a weird father-son combo on-screen

News Desk |

‘102 Not Out’ starring legendary Bollywood actors Amitabh Bachchan and Rishi Kapoor, is set to premiere on 4th May, 2018. 102 Not Out appears to be an unconventional Bollywood movie. Steering away from the typical Bollywood romantic movie genre, which are normally packed with young actors and item numbers, 102 Not Out will definitely give something different to the audience to chew on.  102 Not Out seems to be an unusual tale of a 102-year-old father and a 75-year-old son, who harbour a different perspective on life and tend to look at old age a lot differently than each other.

The movie appears to be an absolute laughing riot with Amitabh Bachchan playing the role of a father, who has devised a plan to outlive the oldest man (118-year-old), but that’s not possible with his 75-year-old son sulking around.

‘102 Not Out’, is a Sony Picture, which is produced by SPE Films India, Treetop Entertainment and Umesh Shukla’s Benchmark Pictures. 102 Not Out gives a strong message of the unique bond that a father-son  share, and makes one realise the importance of cherishing these lifelong bonds. Filmmaker Umesh Shukla, who shot to fame with 2012 satire comedy Oh My God! Is helming this family comedy.

Just like his previous venture, 102 Not Out is an adaptation of Saumya Joshi’s acclaimed Gujarati play, which goes by the same name. Director, Umesh Shukla, proudly talks about his comedy drama “It showcases the fun bond between a father and son. You will see Mr. Bachchan at his mischievous best, trying to play around with his not-so-fun son, Rishi Kapoor.”

Big B opens up the screen with his witty dialogues by describing his son as the “Thakelapakela boring insaan,” who smiles rarely and starts the day with a session of AnulomVilom (breathing exercises). The father has a take on that as well – “Itnihawaandarkheech ta hai nah yeh, kabhikabhimujhe tension hojaatahaiki mere liyekuchhbachegakinahi.” With quirky dialogues like these, 102Not Out gives a strong message of living your life to the fullest.

It does not often happen in Bollywood that veteran actors like Rishi Kapoor and Amitabh Bachchan grace the silver screen together. Even when they do, they are usually cast in supporting roles instead of playing the lead ones. However, it looks like director Umesh Shukla is all set to bend the rules with his latest offering 102 Not Out.Hence, the upcoming release of 102 Not Out is definitely a treat for Bollywood fans!
