Thanks to the images for the new LandCruiser 300 Series leaked out of Japan, we now know what the upcoming model of a much-loved SUV would be looking like.
The leak was made possible thanks to the Kurdistan_Automotive_Blog showing pictures from some port, getting ready to be shipped. More photos were leaked by the Spanish forum, CocheSpias.
These photos indicate that the new 300-series will have a more modern-looking front, but the overall shape remained similar to the current 200-series.
Here is the video by the Kurdistan Blog, as uploaded on their Instagram page.

The leaked photos are in line with the leaked assembly drawings, available on chochespias forum mentioned earlier, leaked earlier in the month, which showed the off-roader’s styling headlined by an upright front end with a rectangular grille, surrounded by LED headlights and a vent-like trim section around the main grille’s lower edges.

Exterior
The SUV’s new-generation model features a large rectangular chrome grille surrounded by a U-shaped intake, revised bumper, and slimmer headlamps at the front end.
The side soft curves have been replaced by sharper creases. The door-mounted mirrors, more pronounced wheel arches, and the updated greenhouse area appear to be inspired by Land Cruiser Prado. A few changes have also been made to its rear section.
Interior
A handful of its interior pictures were leaked in February 2021. According to them, the 2022 Toyota Land Cruiser gets a new multi-spoke steering wheel and digital instrument console.
The infotainment system is getting a major update in the form of a new and bigger 12.3-inch floating touchscreen infotainment system supporting the latest smartphone connectivity.
The SUV reportedly will be featuring automatic climate control, heated and ventilated front seats, connected car technology, wireless phone charging, an electronic parking brake, and a push start/stop button with a fingerprint scanner.
There might be physical buttons for differential lock, lane support, 4WD mode, and adaptive cruise control.
Engine
Engine details of the new 2022 Toyota Land Cruiser are still veiled. However, the SUV is reported to come with a 3.5L twin-turbo V6 petrol hybrid engine that is found in the Lexus LX500 sedan. The motor pushes out a healthy power of 416bhp and 600Nm of torque. It might also get a 3.3L, 6-cylinder turbocharged diesel motor.
Transmission duties are likely to be performed by a 10-inch torque convertor automatic gearbox. The new Land Cruiser will come with the 4WD (four-wheel-drive) system with a low-range transfer case.
In select global markets, the SUV’s new-generation model could be offered with a new 2.8L, 4-cylinder common rail diesel engine that’s good enough for 200bhp and 500Nm of torque.
Safety
According to a Japanese publication creative311, the car will have safety features including autonomous emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, lane-keep assist, lane-centering assist, traffic-sign recognition, and automatic high-beams.
