Actor Mehwish Hayat donned a tough look in an item song ‘Gangster Guriya’ from the upcoming movie ‘Baaji’. The Tamgha-e-Imtiaz laurate has returned with an item number after five years.

Osman Khalid Butt, who is the lead actor in the movie, is the creative mind behind the song. He is the lyricist and choreographer of the song. Taha Malik is the song director and acclaimed Bollywood singer Sunidhi Chauhan has sung the song. Mehwish Hayat shared a small video clip of the song on her Twitter account.

Hayat has made scintillating moves in the song as Sunidhi Chauhan lent her perfect vocals to the song. Her look in the song Guriya Gangster resembled Katrina Kaif’s rowdy and unruly avatar in ‘Afghan Jalebi’ from the movie ‘Ek Tha Tiger’. A rebellious girl in the song, Mehwish Hayat flawlessly thumps the foot on the ground while dancing to the beats of ‘Gangster Guriya’. The song has been released on YouTube and the video has garnered 207,503 views.

She has already shown her dancing skills in the song ‘Bili from ‘Na Maloom Afraad’. She has shaken her legs on song ‘Chirya’ from her latest movie Chlawa.

It is brave of Mehwish Hayat to sign up for another item song despite the severe dissension directed towards her on her first item song ‘Bili’.

The netizens have been quick to point out that song is the imitation of Kaif’s ‘Swag se Swagat’ from Tiger Zinda Hai and Husn Parcham from film ‘Zero’.

Hayat is once again countering flak from netizens on social media. People want Mehwish Hayat to be wary of her choice of work, as she has been bestowed with Tamgha-e-Imtiaz and now hold greater responsibility regarding how she represents Pakistan. Pakistan primarily being a conservative society discourages bold portrayal of women.

On the other hand, the movie ‘Baaji’ is set to be released on 28th June. It stars Amna Ilyas, Ali Kazmi, and Mohsin Abbas Haider in lead roles.
