FM Bilawal pays warm tribute to his mother on her birthday

Taking to Twitter, Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto said that the two-time Prime Minister and leader will forever live in the hearts of the masses. He also honored her struggle for democracy

Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto has paid a warm tribute his mother Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto on what would have been her 69th birthday.

Taking to Twitter, Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto said that the two-time Prime Minister and leader will forever live in the hearts of the masses. He also honored her struggle for democracy which spans more than thirty years.

“On the longest day of the year, we remember Shaheed Benazir Bhutto on what would have been her 69th Birthday. She fought for 30+ years for the restoration of democracy, economic emancipation of the poor, and for the peaceful message of Islam,” Bilawal Bhutto tweeted while sharing pictures of Benazir Bhutto.

“Terrorists, dictators, and cowards have assassinated her. But, she lives on in the hearts and minds of the people of her country and across the world. In life she was Benazir, in death she is Benazir. To her assassins we say; “Tum zinda ho kr murda ho, wo mar kr phir bhi zinda hai [You are alive, yet dead. She is dead still she is alive],” the Foreign Minister further added.

Bilawal Bhutto will address a public rally in Larkana today. Larkana is his hometown. Moreover, he will also inaugurate an intra-city bus service in Larkana. The People’s Bus Service project of the Sindh Mass Transit Authority aims to provide quality and affordable transport facilities to the citizens of Bhutto’s hometown.

PPP leaders honor Benazir Bhutto

In honor of her birth anniversary, PPP leaders are paying rich tribute to Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto. Former President Asif Ali Zardari vowed to fulfill Benazir Bhutto’s dream of a prosperous Pakistan as PPP prepared to celebrate her birthday today (June 21).

In a message on the eve of Benazir Bhutto’s birthday, Asif Zardari said the country will defeat the attitudes of ignorance, extremism, and intolerance. He said the purpose of Benazir Bhutto’s life was to provide social and economic justice to the people by rescuing them from poverty, unemployment, and economic misery.

Federal Minister for Climate Change Sherry Rehman took to Twitter and wrote, ” You live on in our hearts in ways no one else could. Our journey together is still unfinished. Your redemptive light still guides many of us on a path you trod with infinite grace and courage. May you shine on forever.”

Meanwhile, Sindh Assembly member Qasim Soomro praised the first woman Prime Minister of the Islamic world and shared her words in which Benazir Bhutto said that our government provided opportunities to the people for peace, security, dignity, and development.

The assassination of two-time former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto took place in Rawalpindi on 27 December 2007. Shots were fired at her after a political rally at Liaqat National Bagh, and a suicide bomb was detonated immediately following the shooting.
