Pakistan’s very own Sherry Rehman has been included in Time magazine’s annual 100 most influential people in the world.
According to the details, the list features 100 influential people across the globe in six categories; one is leaders, in which as many as 20 people were named.
PPP leader and Climate Change Minister Sherry Rehman has been included in the list along with the likes of US President Joe Biden, Ukraine’s first lady Olena Zelenska, and also Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida.
Sherry Rehman has been recognized for her efforts in raising voice for Pakistan’s flood victims on international platforms like the COP27. Through her impassioned speeches and tireless engagement in negotiations, she convinced many of the delegates that the blatant injustice must come to an end.

COP27 ended with a historic decision—the world community agreed for the first time to establish new loss and damage funding arrangements to support the most vulnerable countries.
“We will need more people like Sherry Rehman along the way,” Germany’s State Secretary Jennifer Morgan wrote in her piece for the magazine.

Among many, the list also includes Indian superstar Shah Rukh Khan, TikTok CEO Shou Zi Chew, Argentine footballer Lionel Messi, and American model Bella Hadid.
It is a remarkable feat for Pakistan to have its leaders internationally recognized for their work. Pertinent to mention that Sherry Rehman was also included in the Forbes 50 Over 50: Asia 2023 list of women along with Supreme Court judge Justice Ayesha A Malik.
The list included 50 women over the age of 50 from the Asia-Pacific region who worked across technology, pharmaceuticals, art, and politics and are excelling in their respective fields while proving that success comes at any age.
