A student of Harvard University criticised the varsity for stopping the students from the graduation ceremony for participating in pro-Palestine and Gaza protests.
A student named Shruti Kumar criticized the university administration for barring 13 students from attending the ceremony. She titled her speech ‘The Power of Not Knowing’. Kumar said that students belonged to undergraduate programs and hence could not pass.
“I am deeply disappointed by the intolerance for freedom of speech and the right to civil disobedience on campus,” she said as she shared that 13 colleagues from her batch will not graduate.

“Harvard! Do you hear us? This semester freedom of speech, expression, and solidarity became punishment,” Kumar said as she received a standing ovation and applause.
“The students had spoken. The faculty had spoken. Harvard, do you hear us?” she said. Kumar said that there is pain and anguish over the situation in Gaza on campus.
Students all over the world are taking over the campuses and protesting against Israel’s ongoing operation in Gaza. The protests have taken over the world now and intensified as Israel made a surprise attack in Rafah.

In a surprising development, Spain, Ireland, and Norway recognized the state of Israel. Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez announced on Tuesday that Spain will officially recognize a Palestinian state, including the Gaza Strip and the West Bank, unified under the Palestinian National Authority with East Jerusalem as its capital.
This decision comes as the EU’s relationship with Israel faces increased strain. Sanchez declared, “This is a historic decision that has a single goal, and that is to help Israelis and Palestinians achieve peace,” during a televised speech from the gates of the prime minister’s palace in Madrid.
