India continued their dominance in the 2024 Asian Champions Trophy, securing a 2-1 win against long-time rivals Pakistan in Hulunbuir, China. The second half of the match saw a determined Pakistan team pushing for an equalizer. However, India’s defense, led by goalkeeper Krishan Pathak, held firm. Pathak’s remarkable double save from a Pakistani penalty corner in the third quarter was a crucial moment that helped India protect their lead. Despite multiple penalty corners and pressure from Pakistan, India’s defense remained unbreakable, keeping their advantage intact as the final whistle approached.

India’s Unbeaten Streak Continues

With this hard-fought victory, India finished the group stage of the tournament with an unbeaten record, winning all five of their matches. Their triumph over Pakistan was the latest in a series of commanding performances, including victories over China, Japan, Malaysia, and Korea. India’s position at the top of the table with 15 points solidifies their status as strong contenders for the Asian Champions Trophy title.

Pakistan, despite the loss, also advanced to the semifinals after an impressive group stage campaign with two wins, two draws, and one loss. As the tournament progresses, both teams will aim for further glory in the knockout stages.
