The lawsuit filed by Khalistan’s leader against Ajit Doval has garnered attention globally. It also comes at a time when Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi is expected to meet former US President and the presidential candidate from Republicans, Donald Trump.
The meeting will be held when Narendra Modi will be visiting the US next week. “He’s fantastic. I mean, fantastic, man. A lot of these leaders are fantastic,” Trump told supporters at a town hall in Flint, Michigan on Tuesday.
“A lot of these leaders are fantastic … They’re not a little bit backward. You know the expression, they’re at the top of their game and they use it against us. But India is very tough, Brazil is very tough. I can tell you, every one.”
A US Court has summoned Indian National Security Advisor Ajit Doval along with former RAW chief Samant Goel, RAW agent Vikram Yadav, and businessman Nikhil Gupta in the conspiracy to kill Sikh leader Gurpatwant Singh Pannun.
The case has grabbed international attention. The case is related to the alleged conspiracy hatched by the Indian government and its intelligence agency RAW to assassinate the Sikh leader.

Gurpatwant Singh has been a vocal leader and supporter of Khalistan. The Sikh for Justice forum has filed a lawsuit in the US. The lawsuit alleged Ajit Doval had a significant role in the conspiracy. Gurpatwant Pannun has presented substantial evidence to the court linking RAW to the conspiracy against him. He noted that his advocacy for Khalistan and the push for a global referendum have made him a target.
The conspiracy appears to be targeting those asking for self-determination and protesting against the Modi government over the violation of fundamental rights in India.

Singh has expressed commitment to continue working for the voting for the global Khalistan referendum to achieve freedom from India. He says that he is prepared to face the death if that is the cost of the freedom. In November, the UK newspaper Financial Times reported that the US had thwarted the assassination attack on Khalistan leader Gurpatwant Singh.
“As regards the case against an individual that has been filed in a US court, allegedly linking him to an Indian official, this is a matter of concern. We have said that this is also contrary to government policy,” then MEA spokesperson Arindam Bagchi said.
In May this year, Dr Jaishankar, India’s Minister for External Affairs said: “The United States brought to our attention certain information in good faith because we also believe some of it has implications for our own system,” he said in an interview to news agency PTI.
“We are investigating it. But I do not think the fundamental course of the upward trajectory of India-US is impacted by this at all,” he said.
