Actor Haroon Shahid has slammed Pakistani cricketer, Shoaib Akhtar, for allegedly disrespecting the makers of the PSL 6 anthem, ‘Groove Mera’ in a video released on social media.
Akhtar in his YouTube video had trolled the song saying that the makers should at least research the meaning of ‘Groove’. With a smirk on his face, Akhtar said even the singers do not know the meaning of the word groove. The cricketers said that the organizers should be ashamed of themselves for making a song like this for an event that will be broadcasted internationally.
A score of social media users agreed with Akhtar but a few disagreed and slammed the actor for mocking the singers.
Really disappointed by the anthem this year. Is this how you're taking PSL brand up? Going down every year. Kon banata hai yeh.

Actors including Haroon Shahid and Adnan Siddiqui bashed Akhtar for trolling the PSL 6 anthem. “Ok I’m not demeaning Shoaib Akhtar but when he talks about aesthetics then let’s talk about the way he commentates in English. Unfortunately, not a sentence goes by with grammatical errors. How dare he insult those young musicians in that manner! Aiday tussi A R Rahman,” wrote Shahid while slamming the cricketer on Twitter.
Least we can do for our artists is respect them. It’s very easy to be keyboard warriors and shred someone’s hard work to pieces. How ungrateful to forget so conveniently all the melodious songs Naseebo Lal has given us. #groovemera doesn’t deserve to be trolled like this🙏🏽

The fact is I’d stand behind if someone tried to disrespect him in the same manner. Peace! Let’s hope for a fantastic cricket competition once again. Pakistan Zindabad,” said Shahid in a tweet.
