Adeel Rana has become the first Pakistani-American deputy inspector of the New York Police Department, on Wednesday. He has been promoted from the post of precinct commanding officer.
Pakistan Embassy in the USA posted about the development and congratulated Adeel Rana on his remarkable achievement.
Rana also took to Twitter and shared the video from his ceremony announcing his promotion as the deputy inspector.
“What a great moment to hear cheers of coworkers, friends, family & community members when my name was called for promotion to Deputy Inspector. A historical moment indeed This promotion making me the First #Pakistani #American to achieve this rank in #NYPD History!,” he wrote in a tweet while expressing his joy.

Adeel Rana makes history
Last year, he made history by becoming the first Muslim police officer to be appointed as a local precinct in the New York Police Department on 5th July.
Fausto Pichardo, the NYPD Chief of Patrol, confirmed the appointment of Captain Adeel Rana as the Precinct Commander.
“Congrats & best of luck to Deputy Inspector Kenneth Perez on his new assignment at @NYPDCommAffairs & welcome aboard to Captain Adeel Rana as the NYPD’s first Pakistani-American Precinct Commander,” Fausto Pichardo announced on the official Twitter handle. Adeel Rana also expressed his excitement about being appointed as the Precinct Commander. He took to Twitter to express joy in his success.
Soon messages of felicitation for Adeel Rana from members of the Muslim community poured in on social media.
“Together we can make a difference. It is a historical event and a great day for America!!!” he said. Councilman Deutsch of the 48th Council District said: “Congratulations to Captain Adeel Rana on his new appointment as CO of @NYPD84Pct.” “Captain Rana is the first-ever Muslim-American to head up an NYPD precinct. I know he will do our city proud!.”

Pakistan-American Law Enforcement Society had also hailed the promotion of Adeel Rana as a local precinct in the New York police force.
