The newly instated Punjab’s Information Minister Fayaz-ul-Hassan Chauhan came under fire for his abusive comments for a news anchor after the show. His videomade rounds on social media in which the minister was heard verbally abusing the anchorperson.
Senior Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Aleem Khan condemned Chohan’s behavior and apologized for his insolent remarks. Chohan should not have said such things, Aleem said while adding that a complaint must have been lodged with Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar.
Fayaz ul Hassan Chauhan, however, soon landed himself in hot waters for his derogatory remarks about the Pakistani film actresses and the entertainment industry while talking to a gathering in Lahore at the event organized in the honor of Musician Mujahid Hussain.

In a fresh video appearing on social media, Fayaz-ul-Hassan Chauhan is being heard having a below the belt discussion over ‘vulgar’, ‘half-naked’ and ‘indecent’ photos of actresses placed outside the cinemas and on billboards across cities in a public gathering attended by families.
Fayaz-ul-Hassan took a dig at Pakistan entertainment industry for producing illicit content including the item songs that tend to objectify women’s body. He added that people wishing to watch such content must visit the pornographic websites.
Punjab’s minister further added that the Information ministry is set to release the notification that will bar the cinema authorities to place the vulgar and indecent photos of the actresses outside the cinema houses. He informed that as per the notification the transgressor of the orders will be fined and in case of pursuance, the cinema house will be permanently closed.
Chohan while asserting his capabilities boasted that he could transformed Punjabi stage performer Nargis to Haji Nargis and could make actor Megha to fast for 300 days instead of 30 in a year.

The video is receiving a strong backlash on social media and ensued a debate on the credibility of the Fayaz-ul-Hassan Chauhan as the Information Minister for the biggest province of Pakistan. The calls are made to replace Fayaz-ul-Hassan Chauhan. Pakistan Tehreek-I-Insaf has not responded to the controversy neither Chauhan has offered an explanation over his statements.
When talked to Nadeem Mandivawalla, the owner of cinema houses in Pakistan pertaining to the announcement of penalizing the cinema owners over advertising the ‘indecent and vulgar photos of the actresses’ he stated, “The provincial minister Fayaz-ul-Hassan Chauhan is talking about a law that is existent for almost 50 years hence it is nothing new”.
He added, “It all depends on the implementation of the laws. Government reserves all rights to penalize its cinema houses if they are deemed violating the laws. However, whether the law in itself is right or wrong, is another debate”.
