Arshad Sharif’s passing in October of the previous year left a void in the journalism community. Prior to his departure from Pakistan to the United Arab Emirates and Nairobi, he had raised concerns about harassment. Following his tragic death, the Pakistani government took action by engaging with UAE authorities, and the Supreme Court initiated an inquiry, although the resolution of the case remains uncertain despite assurances from top officials.
As Aleeza embarks on her journalistic journey, she carries her father’s legacy of truth, integrity, and dedication to delivering reliable news. Her decision to enter the field of journalism, despite the risks and challenges faced by media personnel in Pakistan, demonstrates her bravery and determination to carry forward her father’s work in providing accurate and valuable information to the public.
