Lahore Arts Council will exhibit a theatre play featuring the lives of Pakistan Army soldiers on the instructions of Punjab’s Information and Cultural Minister Fayyaz-ul-Hassan Chauhan. The play will be a tribute to Sepoy Maqbool Hussain. The play will be showcased from November 3, 2018, to November 10th, 2018.
Asghar Nadeem Syed has penned down the play while actor Rashad Mahmood will be essaying the lead roles of Sepoy Maqbool Hussain.
“I have performed various roles in my career, both in film and on TV. However, playing the role of an extremely loyal soldier like sipahi Maqbool Hussain is not easy,” said Mahmood while talking about his role to a media outlet.

He continued, “We have been rehearsing for one month and I chose to stop all my other projects so I can focus on this and give my best. I studied the life story of sipahi Maqbool Hussain and tried to depict the same emotions, sentiments, patriotism, and love for the soil.”
He further stated that Maqbool Hussain was a brave soldier. He invited people to Alhamra Hall and join them to pay the tribute to the deceased soldier.
The president and artistic director of Maas Foundation Amir Nawaz has directed the play. Pervaiz Raza, Sarfraz Raza, Azra Aftab, Zaheer Taaj and Tahseen Khan will be playing important roles. “For me, this play is very special,” stated Nawaz. “The patriotism and love for the country will really be shown through this performance.

Myself and the Maas Foundation team have been working on this project for over a month and it has been more than just an experience. We find ourselves to be refreshed and have a new found love for Pakistan”, he added further.
“We have laughed and we cried during this one month during all the rehearsals. In my view, this play will highlight not only the life of Pakistani soldiers but how much one can sacrifice for this nation”, Nawaz said in conclusion.
Before the first show, a special ceremony will be held for Minister Fayaz-ul-Hassan Chohan.
