Design and Display
If we look at the design of the latest iPhone 12, it’s quite similar to its previous model. However, if pay attention, some changes have been made to its side frame. iPhone 12 comes with a flat finish. Yes, you guessed it right! It resembles iPhone 4.
In terms of display, the iPhone 12 comes packed with a large 6.1-inch Super Retina XDR Display. The lighter, mini variant has a 5.4-inch display installed.
Apple claims both iPhone 12 and its mini variant come with a ceramic shield for protection against collisions. If that isn’t enough, the edges are constructed using aerospace-grade aluminium, and the whole system is spill and splash resistant.
The latest Apple smartphone will be available in five colours: Blue, Black, White, Red, and Green.

Storage and Performance
Apple has equipped its latest iPhone with the latest A14 Bionic SoC, which is a 5nm chip capable of providing better energy efficiency and performance. It’s being advertised as the ‘fastest chip in a smartphone’. A14 Bionic is a 5nm chip with better energy efficiency and performance than the A13. It is the same chipset found in iPhone 12 Pro. Storage offered by the California based smartphone manufacturer is in the form of a 64 GB variant, 128 GB variant and 256 GB variant.
If we look at the CPU, we find a six-core processor – capable of offering a 50% better performance than the A13 chip.
If you’re a gamer, iPhone 12 should be your dream phone! With a four-core GPU, you should expect nothing less than console-quality games.
Just like any other high-end smartphone, iPhone 12 comes packed with a wide array of sensors, including Face ID, Barometer, Three‑axis gyro, Accelerometer, Proximity sensor, and Ambient light sensor.

Cameras
If you’re a fan of clicking decent selfies; iPhone 12 offers you one of the best front-facing cameras ever! You will be able to capture high-quality self-portraits with the dual sensor 12 MP camera. It’s a ƒ/2.2 aperture lens which can shoot HDR video with Dolby Vision up to 30 fps. Best of all, Apple has this time even offered a night mode feature in its front camera.
The smartphone features a 12 MP f/1.6 main camera and a 12 MP ultrawide and comes with a dual-sensor camera setup like the Vanilla iPhone 11 with just a few hardware changes. It’s being billed as the ‘fastest aperture in any iPhone yet” – yes, might be a tall claim. But provided the improved low light performance, it might actually be true!
Battery
Although we still lack information on the exact capacity of the battery installed in each of the iPhone 12 models, that should come to light in the coming weeks. At this stage, we can share the time it lasts:
