This is a healthy smoothie full of nutritious goodness that can help in controlling weight, diabetes, asthma and help to reduce blood pressure. You can put in sugar, but I like to keep it healthy and not add any. To persuade the kids all you need to do is add a couple of strawberries to make it a pink blush color.
Servings 2-3
Ingredients
- 1 large ripe banana
- 1/2 cup almonds
- 500ml milk
- 1 teaspoon almond essence, optional
Method
- Peel the banana and place in a blender with the almonds and milk and almond essence and couple of strawberries if using.
Serve in tall glasses, over ice if you like.
