The first Hindutva genocide of Muslims took place in 2002. Since then there is occasional splurt in violence. What happened under Governor Jagmohan in Kashmir was also that. There is no denying the fact that Kashmiri pundits were forced to leave the valley. But that was the Machiavellian politics of the governor. He used the politics of the plains of India and tried to rule the valley. It did not work.
The next milestone was the massacre of Muzaffarnagar in 2013. Many months have passed since then and more water has flowed down the Jamuna through the length and breadth of several states. In the first decade of 21st-century terrorism increased by leaps and bounds. It was in this context that Lt Col Prasad Purohit stole RDX specifically for making bombs and blowing mosques and target the Muslim population. The ultimate reason was to create the Hindu Rashtra.
This interim period also saw how an important politician LB Sharma, Dr. RP Singh, the so-called Shankaracharya based in Jammu Dayanand Pandey alias Sudhakar Dwicvdi, LetCol Prasad Purohit and another with sobriquet “the man from the Jamuna bank” had used the well built Valmikis to kill Muslims on the banks of the Jamuna in Delhi and around and they had killed in large numbers, too. This planning in a meeting is recorded by both Purohit and the Shankaracharya of Jammu math.
There has been a steady increase in the terror atrocities on Muslims in India over the last several decades. Muslims have been victims of bomb blasts, gunshots, pogroms, and even genocide
But such is the hurly-burly of Indian politics under PM Narendra Modi that they have not cut any ice. Indeed Shankaracharya broke down before ATS chief Hemant Karkare when the holy man’s obscene videos were played his revelry with women around there. Even more disturbing was the videos of the army man. The chances of the video surfacing were destroyed when Karkare was killed.
Time past is time present and time present is in time past, says TS Eliot. The Delhi election is unfolding, hardly a week from now it looks like there would be mass-scale violence thanks to the electoral rhetoric that is the sole armor left for Hindu right-wing party BJP.
But to gauge the mood and read the signs of the times it is necessary to know the grim face and eerie silence of the PM Modi. Events are unraveling under his watch and they are going into a tailspin that forbodes impending doom, Armageddon.
There has been a steady increase in the terror atrocities on Muslims in India over the last several decades. Muslims have been victims of bomb blasts, gunshots, pogroms, and even genocide. In collateral damages, they have been most prominently blamed for acts of terrorism committed by others. Hundreds of them have been languishing in prisons across India. Some of them have passed a decade and a half and even more and yet nothing has been proved against them. Justice Rajender Sacher has documented that Muslims make the highest population in the jails. But the most novel is the highest number of Muslim innocents accused of terror, wrongfully arrested against the express constitutional norms of the republic of which they are the proud albeit economically backward citizens.

In his visit to Italy in 1931 to meet Mussolini, Dr. Balkrishna Shivaram Moonje’s sole objective was to ascertain how to cause mass casualties. Towards this aim, he established the Central Hindu Education Society in Nasik in 1935. This led to the foundation of the Bhonsle Military School there and another at Nagpur which has the headquarters of the Hindu extremist group Rashtriya Swayamsewak Sangh (RSS). Moonje was one of the founders of RSS. Another place of notoriety is the sprawling are of RSS center in Delhi itself, Jhandawallan.
When one of the bomb planters Lokesh Sharma had reached New Delhi on the day of Malegaon blast of September 8, 2006, he had phoned from Pahargani STD/PCO to claim that “Dharmsena” had planted the bombs. Another phone call was made on the same day to the office of Malegaon Marathi newspaper Dinker and also to Jamaat e Ulema Hind (see below).
In naked defiance of the minority Muslims, in particular, RSS and Shiv Sena made no bones of the issue of the future of the Muslims when their chiefs addressed the issue on Dussera day rally on October 22, 2015. “Instead of searching beef in people’s houses, declare the nation a Hindu Rashtra. Then let us see who slaughters cows?” Udhav Thackeray in his hunting call prodded his ally in the government and deeds. RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat took up the strain, “Small episodes happen”.
“Instead of searching beef in people’s houses, declare the nation a Hindu Rashtra. Then let us see who slaughters cows?”
They get exaggerated and presented in a big way. Small incidents keep happening but these cannot distort Indian culture, Hindu culture. Since time immemorial, it respects diversity, coordinates among diversities to establish unity. This is Hindutva.”
Both of them broiled up the minority community in metaphysical anguish over their existential problem. The RSS, in particular, left no one in doubt that they have absolute power over choosing the quarry and the time to kill. Their language then and especially now is the dog whistle as Modi identifies the quarry by dress in the citizenship protests and the locality where they are sizable, ala Swami Asimanand whom Modi patronized and promised continued support and sustaining despite how it was stopped by the outgoing and his predecessor CM Patel of Gujarat.
Another choice the RSS has shown is that through such acts it is in fact uniting the country and this is in essence Hindutva. So one dominant group’s attempt to unite the country in the name and cultural essences of Hinduism is a direct and fatal risk to the survival of other smaller groups. Notwithstanding, every such act is loosening the tie that has so far kept us living together. Even worse than the infamous demolition of Babri mosque the signature development in Dadri is your time is up and therefore pack up and leave or else face more such attacks. Like a truly terrorist organization, it left the imprint of what we call the Sangh Parivar or saffron family. After blowing four bombs in the graveyard mosque and an adjoining public square in September 2006 the Sangh wrote back a reminder.

“Do you remember or not the bomb blasts? Or have you forgotten! If you have forgotten then be prepared for further bomb blasts. The power of the Sangh (RSS) is all over the state and the country. Remember this is a Hindu Rashtra and we will make it one. Muslims, leave India. Jamaitul ulema-e-Hind, don’t try to be smart.
We are enclosing herewith our deeds”
Sangh
The above threatening letter was sent to Jamaitul ulema-e-Hind and a local newspaper Dinkar on the day of the attack on September 8, 2006, in Malegaon.
It was in the above mentioned “military” schools in India and centers that Lt. Col. Prasad Shrikant Purohit imparted training to around 5000 activists of Abhinav Bharat who were also members of the RSS. The training was in line with the mass casualties that they wanted to commit in the name of exclusionary cultural nationalism of their hateful ideology. Where was the planning made and order for execution came from?
The Marathi newspaper Sakal, Pune edition of November 10, 2008, reports that “some of the 54 youth who participated in the training camp in Nagpur in 2001 was involved in the Malegaon blasts and Nanded blasts.” Nagpure is the sanctum sanctorum of the RSS and Pune is commendable in covering events in its edition.
Wounds cannot heal by the passage of time what with slogans of desh ke gaddaron ko goli maro salon ko – this reopens the wound. What is transpiring around the electioneering in Delhi 2020 is itching for a revival of the genocide of 2002
These groups wanted to cause enormous casualties as in the case of Malegaon 2006 and Malegaon 2008 terror attacks, Samjhauta Express attack of 2007 and the plan to attack the mammoth Ijtema or congregation of Muslims in 2001 in the largest mosque of India in Bhopal. Each of these and many others have the same script. Wounds cannot heal by the passage of time what with slogans of desh ke gaddaron ko goli maro salon ko – this reopens the wounds.
Of all events putting Modi as the chief executive of India and entering Parliament and bowing to the Constitution reminds that he was sworn as CM of Gujarat and the same mark his vow to protect all the people and yet these two events and what is happening in Delhi with three gun attacks on Muslims and cry of more to come is “like ripping off the bandage and picking up at the scab.”
What is transpiring around the electioneering in Delhi 2020 is itching for a revival of the genocide of 2002. At that time arms were made locally in the factories or foundries of BJP leaders and also bought and brought from Punjab, UP, Bihar, etc; were supplied even during curfew hours to the Hindus to kill Muslims and killing them made the marauders feel like Rana Pratap Singh as the most prominent killer of women and chalking their pregnant bodies and killing the fetuses and the mothers with relish, Babu Bhai Patel, Babu Barjrangi.

Today’s Rana is not just one but many and rife is the slogan goli maro salon ko. Such shameful is the situation to many like Shehala Rasheed and many others that many shouts for another chance to rape and kill! And right-wing leaders like the chief minister of Haryana Khattar would let his people marry Muslim women from Kashmir for balancing the sex ratio in his state taking the opportunity of the scrapping of article 370!
From what is happening around India Modi has failed both in the economy and also in the polity. World’s largest democracy cannot endure another five years of Modi. The times have proved even Ian Bremmer wrong because economic reforms are in tatters.
What is unmistakable is the nemesis of 2002 as “the hate-mongering priest in saffron” Aditynath hollers ‘Boli se nahi manega toh goli chala do’. Shiv bhakto par goli chalayega koi vyakti, Danga karayega, boli se nahi manega toh goli se toh maan hi jayega (If anyone opens fire at devotees of Lord Shiva, causes riots… If they don’t listen to talks, they will surely listen to bullets) this is presumptuous of Yogi and rampant aggressiveness. And the PM is continuing the dog whistle warning of backlash elsewhere. This elsewhere means the Hindu majority area and is ominous as it happened in 2002.
“Look at the huge inconvenience it has been causing to people who commute from Delhi to Noida. People of Delhi are watching. They may be silent. But they are seething with resentment over this display of politics of vote-bank. This mindset has to be checked here itself. For, if the conspirators get powerful, more roads and lanes will be blocked similarly. We cannot allow Delhi to be pushed in the throes of anarchy.” Modi was also addressing the people of trans Jamuna where there were killings as referred earlier.

One of the shooters at Shaheen Bagh was Kapil Gujjar and he subscribed to the ideology of hate and extremism of Updesh Rana: ‘The gunman, in his posts, had written that in case he had even half the followers of Rana, he would have turned Shaheen Bagh into “Jallianwala Bagh”. Rana was arrested in Jaipur in 2017 over a proposed rally in support of Shambhulal Regar, who was accused of killing a Muslim laborer in Rajasthan and circulating the video.’ So shocking and gory was his video that was no less than the bloody reprisal in 2002 unleashed on the Muslims for three days by the order of the chief minister.
Rana compares Rambhakt Gopal who shot Shadab at Jamia with Friedrich Nietzsche’s Übermensch, or the superman. “Nietzsche writes in his superman theory that every society needs a superman. Gopal wanted to be that mahamanav of this Hindu society.” This is the language of those who plan mass murders.
