Arshad Khan ‘Chaiwala’ won Rs 1 crore deal at Shark Tank Pakistan

His light blue eyes and striking features instantly made him a viral sensation. Accompanied by his business partner Kazim Hasan, Khan outlined his journey from roadside tea seller to café owner.

Viral sensation Arshad Khan, also known as ‘Chaiwala,’ won a deal worth Rs 1 crore from Shark Tank Pakistan. Khan became a viral sensation for his striking looks in 2016 when his pictures of making tea at a roadside tea stall went viral on social media.

His light blue eyes and striking features instantly made him a viral sensation. Accompanied by his business partner Kazim Hasan, Khan outlined his journey from roadside tea seller to café owner. He explained how the viral video inspired him to pursue his dream of opening a cafe, a goal he held while working at someone else’s dhaba.

He launched his first cafe in 2020 during the pandemic, relaunched it later that year, and expanded his operations in England. The same year, he expanded two cafes in Pakistan and three outlets in England through a franchise deal.

While explaining their business, Khan and Kazim said that their business not only focuses on selling tea but their focus is a combination of culture and traditional flavors.

Sharks Junaid Iqbal and Faisal Aftab opted out of the deal due to their lack of experience in the hospitality sector. Rabeel Waraich offered a Rs.1 crore deal with a 24% equity share.

Shark Romanna Dada later proposed to join the deal with the same amount. Shark Usman Bashir also joined in the deal with a 30% equity share.

Arshad Khan and Kazim Hasan eventually accepted the offer proposed by Rabeel and Romanna also agreed to a 25% equity share for Rs 1 crore. Khan requested Rs 1 crore in exchange for a five percent equity stake in his business.
