Pakistan’s star athlete Olympian Arshad Nadeem, conferred with Hilal Imtiaz on Thursday. He has been awarded the medal by President Asif Ali Zardari in recognition of his remarkable achievement of winning a Gold Medal in Javelin at the Paris Olympics 2024.
President conferred Hilal Imtiaz in a special ceremony organized to honor his achievements. Earlier, on August 10, President Zardari approved a civil award for javelin champion under Article 259 (2) of the Constitution, President Secretariat Press Wing said in a press release.
Hilal Imtiaz is the second-highest civilian award given to both civilians and military personnel for exceptional contributions.
Arshad Nadeem has been showered with praises, state recognition, and prize money since his win in the Paris Olympics 2024.
Earlier, Army Chief General Asim Munir honors Pakistan’s Gold Medalist Arshad Nadeem at the Paris Olympics 2024 in a ceremony held at GHQ.

Arshad Nadeem has won a Gold Medal in Javelin after his record-breaking throw of 92.97 m. The event was attended by the Sports team and National Hockey Team and other notable figures, reads a statement issued by ISPR.
“The event was attended by sports teams and legendary Olympians including 1984 Olympic and National Hockey Teams, National Cricket Team, Street Football Team, Army Polo Team, Visually Impaired Cricket and Women Goal Ball Teams, Medal Winners of Common Wealth, SAF and Asian Games and participants of Paris Olympics 2024,” the ISPR added.
Notable figures included Jehangir Khan, Isalah ud Din, Muhammad Asif, Aisam-ul-Haq, and others who attended the event.
The recognition of Arshad Nadeem’s success extended beyond governmental accolades. Renowned Islamic scholar Maulana Tariq Jamil hosted a special dinner at his residence to honor Nadeem for his extraordinary achievement. The event was a gesture of appreciation for Nadeem’s dedication and hard work, which have not only elevated Pakistan’s status in the global sports arena but have also inspired countless individuals across the country.
