The anti-terrorism court in Islamabad orders the release of all arrested MNAs of Pakistan Tehreek-I-Insaf (PTI). These MNAs were arrested from the Parliament House following the party’s power show at Sangjani, Islamabad on September 8th, 2024.
ATC Judge Abul Hasnat Zulqarnain heard the bail pleas and granted post-arrest bail to the PTI MNAs who were taken into custody by the Islamabad police with their cases registered at the Sangjani police station. The bail was given against the surety bonds of Rs.30,000 each.
Prosecutor Raja Naveed asked the judge to decide against the bail of these MNAs. “Has anything been recovered from Sher Afzal Marwat, Ahmed Chattha, and other MNAs?” the judge questioned the prosecutor.

Earlier, Islamabad High Court had declared the physical remand of PTI MNAs including members of the National Assembly null and void.
A two-member bench of the Islamabad High Court dismissed the allegations in the cases related to the PTI rally as absurd. Meanwhile, the arrested MNAs were again presented in the National Assembly on production orders.
They were also presented on production orders in the National Assembly. The MNAs in their speeches narrated how they were arrested from the premises of the NA on Monday and Tuesday. Sheikh Waqas Akram, Amir Dogar, Zain Qureshi, and others spoke on the floor of parliament and recorded their protest. Akram said that 2-3 MNAs of PTI including him and Zain Qureshi were the real targets, other MNAs stayed with them in solidarity and got arrested.
He added that they planned to stay in the Parliament House and attend the session the next day. They believed they did not think of being arrested by the National Assembly. All the detained MNAs including Sher Afzal Marwat, Maulana Naseem Shah, Zain Qureshi, and Sheikh Waqas Akram were presented in the court amid tight security. Videos of MNAs stepping out of the car circulated on social media. Amir Dogar stepped out from the car and started chanting slogans of ‘PM Imran Khan’.
