Aurat March, an organization set up to advocate women’s rights in Pakistan, has been slammed for allegedly condemning PM Imran Khan. The organization released an official statement on Sunday after PM Imran Khan defeated a no-confidence motion filed in the National Assembly against him.
He also advised President Arif Alvi to dissolve assemblies and announced new elections in the country. PM Imran Khan will continue to be the prime minister of Pakistan till the appointment of the interim prime minister. The nation and the opposition were left shocked by the turn of events in the National Assembly when people were convinced that PM Imran Khan would lose office. PMLN leader, Shahbaz Sharif, was the expected premier of the country had the no-confidence motion that went successful against PM Imran Khan.
The turn of events led Supreme Court to set up an immediate bench on Sunday to listen to the petitions filed in the court against PTI and the government. Reacting to the situation, Aurat March also posted a note on social media. “We condemn the political circus that has erupted due to the fragile masculine ego of a person who has sabotaged democratic processes just to save the perception of his individuality and to stage a dirty maneuver for his comeback to power. #NoConfidenceMotion #AuratMarch2022,” said Aurat March with a note posted on Twitter.

About time we realised that the women behind Aurat March are themselves a big threat to feminism in this country. They're literally the reason people don't support this march, and if that is not enough for them to be ashamed of their existence, I don't know what is. https://t.co/ypXPnaDRs1

Aurat March since then has been attracting massive criticism for its ‘selective outrage’ and allegedly vilifying PM Imran Khan.

Criticism for the organization
Several internet users condemned the organization for taking up a brazen silence on the inhumane act of PPP to call in a fugitive member Jam Abdul Karim in a murder case of Nazim Jokhio. They reminded the organizers how the wife of Jokhio, Shireen Jokhio, has been forced to pardon the murderers as she wanted to fight but has been left alone by her people.
Netizens argued that the organizers have themselves damaged the cause the organization was built for. Some recalled the decisions taken by the PTI government for the safety and rights of women.
“According to Aurat March the person who talks about women’s rights, approved the anti-rape law and law that gives women their right in inheritance and promote education has fragile masculine ego!!,” said Aamnah Jabeen.
Netizens added that Aurat March has got nothing to do with the no-confidence motion and that it does not threaten women’s rights in any way.
