Babar Azam and Shaheen Shah not on talking terms: Wasim Akram

Wasim Akram further said that an entire clean-up of the team is necessary. He also criticized Iftikhar Ahmed.

Legendary pacer Wasim Akram hints at a possible rift between Babar Azam and Shaheen Shah Afridi.  He lost his cool as he ripped apart the Pakistan Cricket Team for their unbelievable defeat against India.

He claims that Babar Azam and Shaheen Shah Afridi are not on talking terms regarding the captaincy issue. Shaheen Shah Afridi replaced Babar Azam as the captain for a short stint last year. With the change in management, Babar Azam was again made the captain earlier this year.

Wasim Akram also lambasts Rizwan for his poor game awareness. “They have been playing cricket for 10 years, and I can’t teach them. Rizwan has no game awareness,” Akram said on Star Sports after the match.

Rizwan lost his wicket on the first ball of the over by Jasprit Bumrah. “He should have known that Bumrah was given the ball to take wickets and that the wise thing would have been to play his deliveries cautiously. But Rizwan went for a big shot and lost his wicket,” he said.
Wasim Akram further said that an entire clean-up of the team is necessary. He also criticized Iftikhar Ahmed. “Iftikhar Ahmed knows one shot on the leg side. He has been a part of the team for years but doesn’t know how to bat,” said Akram.

“I can’t go and tell about the game awareness Fakhar Zaman. Pakistani players think that if they don’t perform well, the coaches will be sacked, and nothing will happen to them. It is time to keep the coaches and change the entire team.”

Pakistani cricket fans are in disbelief following an unimaginable loss against India. Several former cricketers have lambasted the PCB management and the players for the careless display of the game in the match against India. Pakistan lost by runs while chasing the target of eight runs.
