Babar Azam celebrates birthday with world captains in Australia

Being the host, Australian captain Aaron Finch also presented Babar Azam with the cake at the press conference especially made by him.

Pakistani skipper Babar Azam is celebrating his 28th birthday today. He celebrated his birthday with other world captains gathered for ICC T20 World Cup 2022 in Australia.

Pakistan’s team has reached Australia for the ICC T20 World Cup. Babar Azam reached a day earlier to attend the press conference of captains in Australia. Being the host, Australian captain Aaron Finch also presented Babar Azam with the cake at the press conference especially made by him. Azam cut the cake at the press conference as other captains appreciated him.

Later on, Pakistan Cricket Board also arranged a birthday celebration for Babar Azam. PCB invited all the captains to the cake-cutting ceremony. All the captains wished Babar Azam success. A video has been released by Pakistan Cricket Board on social media.

In the press conference, Babar Azam and Rohit Sharma talked about the equation between the current Indian and Pakistani players. Babar Azam said Rohit Sharma is an elder and he has a lot to gain from his experience. Responding to the same question, Rohit Sharma said that he realizes the importance of the game against Pakistan but there is no need to talk about that every time. Indian skipper added that they talk about families and other things when they interact with each other. This is also what they have heard from former senior players as well.

Social media is also brimmed with birthday wishes for Babar Azam. His teammates also wished him success on his birthday. The young skipper is credited for revolutionizing the culture of the Pakistan Cricket Team. He is considered one of the best batters in contemporary cricket.  He is the only batter to register a hat-trick of ODIs on two occasions. The skipper has scored 11,017 runs in international cricket. He is currently the No.1 ODI batter in ICC Rankings and is the first batter to score two T20Is. He has secured the most wins for Pakistan as a captain in T20Is.
