The semifinal against New Zealand turned out to be a relief for the performance-starved opening duo of Pakistan. Both Babar Azam and Muhammad Rizwan had failed to perform consistently in the previous matches of the T20 World Cup 2022.

Pakistani skipper Babar Azam has asked critics to enjoy the win of Pakistan in the semifinal of the T20 World Cup 2022. Pakistan Wednesday qualified for the final of the T20 World Cup 2022

Pakistan defeated New Zealand following a clinical performance. Babar Azam and Muhammad Rizwan played a courageous inning to help Pakistan get through to the final of the T20 World Cup 2022. On the other hand, Shaheen Shah Afridi with his spectacular bowling outclassed New Zealand. Pakistan dominated the opponents in all the departments- bowling, batting, and fielding.

The semifinal against New Zealand turned out to be a relief for the performance-starved opening duo of Pakistan. Both Babar Azam and Muhammad Rizwan had failed to perform consistently in the previous matches of the T20 World Cup 2022. Fans have been desperately waiting for the opening duo to get back into form and perform- and they did it.

The opening batter, however, did face scathing criticism for underperformance. The batters have proved their critics wrong. In a post-match conference, Babar Azam admitted that Pakistan was not up-to-the-mark at the beginning of the tournament. The team lost the matches against India and Zimbabwe. It was demoralizing but the management supported the players. They won against the Netherlands but also thanked the Netherlands for defeating South Africa.

“There are ups and downs in cricket, but I believed that we would stage a comeback. I have my team management to thank as they kept my morale high,” Babar said.

Regarding the criticism, he said, “If the captain is being criticized, it means that the team is also being criticized.”

“You can indeed criticize, but refrain from getting personal. Critics should now enjoy as the team has reached the final,” he added.

Babar Azam says the team is prepared to play against any team in the final. He is confident the men in green will give their 100% in the final of the T20 World Cup 2022.
