Azam gave a smashing response to the trolling by Gloucestershire who had mocked him for his lackluster performance in the previous match.

Azam sailed his team, Somerset, towards victory with his valiant knock. He scored 114-runs off 62 balls in the match. The energetic Pakistani player hit nine fours and five sixes in the match, giving a befitting response to trolling. His powerful performances enabled Somerset to put a score of 183 for 3 against Glamorgan.

Azam managed to barely score 10 runs off 17 balls against Gloucestershire on Sunday. Later in the day, the team took to Twitter to troll the Pakistani skipper. They put up a video of Azam that showed him struggling to bat against David Payne. “Rankings don’t matter on the pitch,” wrote Gloucestershire in the caption of the video.

The 25-year-old Babar Azam is at the second spot in the T20I rankings. The latest knock against Glamorgan will enable Azam to shatter the record of consecutive poor performances in the Vitality Blast T20 league.

Before his 114-runs knock, Babar had only scored 58 runs for Somerset in the four innings. However, the cricketer took the center stage and led his team to victory in the most crucial match. Somerset has lost its previous three matches.

Azam is a Pakistani cricketer who captains the Pakistan national team in limited-overs cricket and is a top-order batsman. Babar Azam is the only player to be among the top five ICC rankings across all formats. The latest knock brought him the achievement of scoring 5000 T20 runs. He scored the achievement in his 145th winnings while playing against Glamorgan. Meanwhile, Babar has represented Pakistan 41 T20Is, 74 ODIs, and 29 Tests to date.
