The top slot in the most recent MRF Tyres ICC Men’s T20I Batting Rankings, which will be revealed on Wednesday, is being contested by Mohammad Rizwan, Babar Azam, and Suryakumar Yadav.
While the Asian heavyweights compete for the Asia Cup in the United Arab Emirates, there is a tight race for the top slot in the T20I batting rankings between Babar Azam, Suryakumar Yadav, and Mohammad Rizwan.
Up until last week, Babar had resisted pressure from Yadav of India and comrade Rizwan to maintain his top ranking.
But when the ICC issues the Player Rankings on Wednesday, a run of poor performances from Babar and half-centuries from Rizwan and Suryakumar in the previous week may cause a scramble at the top of the rankings this week.

With 192 runs, including two fifty-scores in three games, Rizwan has amassed the most runs in the Asia Cup thus far. The tournament’s opening match against India saw Pakistan’s opener score fifty against both Hong Kong and India, as well as 43.
On the other hand, Yadav crushed Hong Kong with a spectacular 26-ball 68*. With scores of 10, 9, and 14 in the first three games, Babar hasn’t had a terrific tournament.
With 810 rating points, Babar now holds the top spot in the batting rankings. Yadav comes in second with 792 points, closely followed by Rizwan with 796 points.
During India’s ODI matches against the West Indies, Yadav had a chance to overtake the top rank. He scored 135 runs, which was the most during the series, but the decision to rest him for the championship game prevented him from passing Babar.

The Pakistan captain’s unremarkable run of runs, however, may finally cause some movement at the top of the MRF Tyres ICC T20I Batting Rankings. Babar has been in first place for more than a thousand days.
