Former Bangladeshi cricketer Tamim Iqbal,36, suffered a massive heart attack on the field during a domestic match.

Medical Officer of the Bangladesh Cricket Board asserted that Tamim Iqbal had suffered a heart attack and he knows so faf that his heart had started to function better.

Team official Tariqul Islam informed that he was being treated at a hospital in Dhaka’s outskirts and urged people to pray for his quick recovery.

The BCB called off its scheduled meeting as officials headed to hospital to visit him.

Tamim had only fielded for just one over of the game’s first innings. He left the field after feeling discomfort in his chest. He immediately visited the Specialized Hospital and Nursing Home.

After consultation, Tamim returned to the ground to take an air ambulance to visit another hospital, but was unable to do so after further complications. He was then hurried back to the original hospital in critical condition. Further tests confirmed blockage in his arteries.

“He was in good spirits during the toss,” Montu Dutta, the BKSP chief cricket coach, told reporters in the afternoon. “When he felt sick, he left the field and took his own car to the hospital. The doctors there did not want to let him leave at the time, but Tamim left anyway and was arranging an air ambulance himself.”

An official medical bulletin was later offered by the doctors: “He returned to us in a critical condition. We can call it a heart attack, and we subsequently did an angiogram and angioplasty to remove the blockage. The medical procedure has gone smoothly. He is currently under observation. The swift coordination between the medical staff at BKSP and the hospital ensured Tamim was treated quickly.”
