Mahua Moitra, Trinamool Congress leader, ferociously blasted BJP for its divisive Citizenship Amendment Act and the incessant ruthless crackdown on the dissent in the country in a fiery speech on Monday in parliament.
Mahua Moitra exposed the facade in BJP’s rhetoric that tricked Indian citizens with its slogan “Sabka saath sabka vikas (development for all)” yet “betrayed them by questioning the citizenship of the very citizens who voted you to power.”

Mahua Moitra compared the the draconian CAA to the Holocaust of the Nazi regime in Germany. She added that the government’s new laws – CAA, NRC, and NRP “are all tools in this Machiavellian design to first mark out, then disenfranchise and finally annihilate”.
In a blistering takedown of BJP, Mahua Moitra, said that the fascist practice of the New Delhi regime was repudiated by their voters who vouch for ‘development for a united India’.
These voters, she said, “cannot identify with the hate-filled venomous invective that’s spewed out by members of the ruling party”.

Moitra said that BJP is building a “narrative where our daadis become your terrorists and our children become your desh drohis (traitors).” She made these remarks concerning the old women of Shaheen Bagh who made headlines across the world with their non-stop protest against CAA for 50 days.
Mahau Moitra is known for her searing jibes at BJP. Last year, she made rounds on social media when her video explaining seven factors of fascism in the Indian parliament pinged across social media.
Her criticism is timely and refers to the scary threats issued by BJP ministers for anti-CAA protestors demonizing them as terrorists and anti-state elements attempting to overrun the unity and stability of the country.

Recently, BJP Minister Anurag Thakur was caught on camera for provoking the crowd to chant slogans that call for gunning down these protestors because they are ‘traitors’.
Parvesh Verma, BJP’s candidate for Delhi elections, said “Shaheen Bagh protestors will enter your house and rape your daughters and sister” during his election campaign that stirred a strong backlash from the mentioned protestors who are staging a sit-in demonstration against the Citizenship Amendment Act joined by hundreds of women each day.
He continued with his fiery statements hinting towards a savage crackdown on Shahen Bagh if Bharatiya Janata Party assumed power in the elections next month. He even expressed his fearsome intention to raze the mosques built on government lands, a symbolic expression of the ruling dispensation of intolerance and disdain towards the Muslim community.
