During a discussion led by Entertainment Tonight, Lively assured fans that both the book and the movie will be equally enjoyable, regardless of which one they experience first.
“If you read the book first, I genuinely believe, and I don’t normally promise this, but I believe that you’ll love this movie,” said the “Gossip Girl” star.
“And then if you see the movie first and then you read the book, you’ll love the book. I think that’s the goal, and I hope we can accomplish that.”

She also noted the challenges of adapting a book into a movie: “When you’re making a movie, there are all these elements and so many factors, and then you add to it that there’s a book on top of it, and sometimes things slip through the cracks.”
