Indian actress Rajshri Deshpande dedicates her award to the people of Gaza. She won the Best Actor Female (series) at the Filmfare OTT Awards. The award ceremony held on Monday 27th, November, 2023 is making rounds on social media.
In her acceptance speech, she dedicated her award to the innocent civilians of Gaza who lost their lives in the incessant violence by Israel last month. While dedicating the speech, she said “To all the Neelam and Shekhar Krishnamoorthy (the lead characters of Trial By Fire) in this world, to all the innocent people, children who lost their lives in the ongoing war which is happening in Gaza and Palestine. To all my villages, to my farmers, who are still waiting for basic necessities in their villages.
“To all the creators, writers, directors, actors, who are waiting for that one big chance to be seen, heard. I hope we all get empathetic people in the world for us, I hope we get love, kindness, and compassion in the world for all of us because that is exactly what we want today and every day.”
Deshpande is a rare example of Bollywood celebrities speaking up for Gaza and condemning indiscriminate bombing by Israel.

On the other hand, Pakistani celebrities are extremely vocal about the Palestinian cause. They are using their social media spaces to raise the issue, condemning the Israeli brutalities.
Pakistani singer Atif Aslam has made a heartfelt contribution of PKR 15 million towards vital medical and food aid for Gaza, Palestine. His generous gesture comes during a challenging time for the region and has been warmly acknowledged by the Alkhidmat Foundation Pakistan, the organization to which he donated.
The Alkhidmat Foundation Pakistan expressed deep gratitude on Instagram, saying, “Deep gratitude to the esteemed Atif Aslam for his generous contribution of 15 million PKR towards essential medical and food aid for Gaza, Palestine during these trying times. We humbly request your support for the Alkhidmat Gaza Fund.”
