The Indian women team ended up as the second best team in the ICC Women’s World Cup 2017. The former Champion, England, sustained its position at the top after a nail biting match.
After the sudden collapse of the Indian team for 28 runs, they quickly recovered and fought back. After a very close contest, India lost by 9 runs. The Indian team had a perfect chance to win the match, with its excellent fielding in the first half. However, the batting line up in the second half, couldn’t maintain its stability, against the English bowling attack. England has won this title for the fourth time.
The Indian Captain admitted of team wilting under pressure, but the Captain Mithali, said she was proud of the team, as, throughout the tournament, the team gave tough time to every opponent they faced.
Though the defeat came as a startling shock to the Indian fans, soon Bollywood celebrities marched in to show support for their girls on social media.
From Akshay Kumar to Shahrukh Khan, Priyanka and Ranvir Singh, all stood up and cheered the girls for their hard work and efforts. The stars in their messages made the girls realized that winning and losing in a part of the game, they overall had learned a lot which will help them in future.
Akshay Kumar, who was in London, for the shooting of his film, was in the ground to see the women World Cup finale. The star cheerfully kept supporting the team throughout the game and met the team after the match. He posted a picture on Twitter and wrote, “Even Broken Hearts Can Laugh!! These Women have started a revolution & I couldn’t be more proud.”

While Shahrukh Khan, who expressed his wish to be present there and laud the efforts of the girl, said he was proud of the greatness achieved today. Anushka Sharma, cheered the team, and offered salutation to the determination of the girls.

The girls not only gained the appreciation from their countrymen but also received appreciation from their neighbors. Pakistanis generously hailed the performance of the women in the blue.
