Netflix has announced that “Bridgerton” season 4 will center on Benedict Bridgerton’s love story, portrayed by Luke Thompson.
Although Benedict has not been a central figure in recent seasons, the upcoming season will focus on his search for a soulmate, according to a US media outlet.

Season 4 will draw from Julia Quinn’s third ‘Bridgerton’ novel, “An Offer From a Gentleman,” which follows Benedict’s quest for the “lady in silver,” a low-born woman named Sophie Beckett. Netflix confirmed in the season’s logline that Benedict’s love interest remains this woman. The description reads, “The fourth season of ‘Bridgerton’ turns its focus to bohemian second son Benedict (Luke Thompson). Despite his elder and younger brothers both being happily married, Benedict is loath to settle down — until he meets a captivating Lady in Silver at his mother’s masquerade ball.”
The Regency-era romance series, based on Julia Quinn’s books, each spotlighting a different Bridgerton sibling, was developed by Shonda Rhimes’ production company Shondaland and Netflix. The show depicts the romantic pursuits of the Bridgerton family in London’s competitive marriage market of the early 1800s, highlighting the social season’s scandals and successes.
Notably, ‘Bridgerton’ season 3 skipped the third book to focus on the romance between Colin (Luke Newton) and Penelope (Nicola Coughlan).

Reflecting on the filming of season 3, Nicola Coughlan shared that she felt more relaxed when watching the leading couples of the first two seasons. “As supporting actors, you can go, ‘I’ll do my little bit but it doesn’t really matter because the main story is over there,’” she told a US media outlet. However, this changed when she and Newton became the leading couple for the third season of the Emmy-nominated show. “For us to then go into being the main story, I think it overwhelms us still,” said the Irish actress.
