Hamdard foundation has been devoted towards medicine and research in hopes of progress in the field. Hakim Hafiz Abdul Majeed, a renowned pharmacist, and physician of Tibbi-i-Unani of his time launched the enterprise of ‘Hamdard’ from a small shop in old Delhi in 1906. This then rose to its heights and today is a multi-faceted organization with schools, universities and, research entities, and successful Unani medicine business.
Hamdard College of Medicine & Dentistry is a known and popular private college in Pakistan. It was founded by the Hamdard Foundation in 1994 whence it opened its main campus in Karachi. Now, Hamdard College of Medicine & Dentistry has three campuses distributed in Karachi and Islamabad with its students respected all over the country.
An award ceremony recently held at the Department of Endodontic dentistry, Hamdard dental college celebrated the bright minds of Hamdard family. The ceremony was chaired by Dr. Mehmood, Head of Prosthodontic department. The certificates were distributed among the candidates by Professor Dr. Abrar, Head & CPSP postgraduate supervisor, Hamdard dental college.

The winners were selected on the basis of their overall performance during clinical rotations in their respective departments. The award for the best supervisor award went to Dr. Husain Muhammad ul Baqir. The best house surgeon award was handed over to Dr. Bilawal Nawaz. Mr. Arsalan was awarded as the best Assistant.
Such ceremonial activities uplift the self-esteem of students and practitioners as their efforts are recognized and appreciated by their superiors. The university has always been an advocate of a positive environment for its students to bloom. Hence, they have avidly worked on interlacing several shades of green through their picturesque flora and fauna.

Nature, at Hamdard – especially its Madinat al Hikmah campus, manifests itself explicitly. Within its boundaries, purpose-built architectural marvels of different faculties and departments merge well into the planned landscape setting spread of over 350 acres. It is in the context of this natural setting and historical site that Shaheed Hakim Mohammed Said envisioned and established Hamdard University – now one of the biggest seats of higher learning in the Private Sector.
Among the many disciplines taught at the University, medicine, dentistry, and pharmacology run parallel to Hamdard’s eastern medicinal inclination. This is a smartly balanced progression on the foundation’s part where they are dedicated to, not only their primary business but also modern medicine.
Hamdard’s social services
Hamdard has always very actively participated in shaping the narrative of young minds in Pakistan. In April 2019, in a corporate social responsibility gig, Hamdard foundation had organized an awareness-raising session in Peshawar, which suggested the introduction of special lessons in the school and college syllabi to keep the young generation away from corruption.
Hamdard routinely participates in well-renowned exhibitions to engage its wide audience and to build better customer relationships.
