British Airways to begin direct weekly flight operations to Lahore

The Government of the UK has announced that British Airways will operate four direct flights from Lahore, Pakistan to London Heathrow.

British Airways announced on Tuesday that it will start flight operations for Lahore from October 12th, 2020. In the extended operations in Pakistan- British Airways will operate four flights a week from Lahore to Heathrow International Airport.

The airline says it will connect the passengers in Pakistan to Canada, the US, and the UK. After Islamabad, Lahore is the next city the UK’s carrier will be flying to in Pakistan. The Government of the UK has announced that British Airways will operate four direct flights from Lahore, Pakistan to London Heathrow. The tickets are on sale now announced the UK government.

The flight will be operated by a Boeing 787-8 departing from Heathrow Terminal 5, landing into Lahore’s International Airport.

British High Commissioner to Pakistan, Dr. Christian Turner said, “The first-ever British Airways flights to Lahore is a sign of confidence in Pakistan, and the deepening ties between our two countries. I hope it will open up even more opportunities for business links, people-to-people ties, and tourism.”

 

Moran Birger, Head of Sales for The Middle East and the Asia Pacific, expressed delight in the expansion of the operations of British Airways in Pakistan.

“We are delighted to start direct flights four times a week from Lahore to London offering convenient travel options for customers flying for leisure or business.

“Our new services from Lahore will connect two of Pakistan’s biggest cities with London, and offer seamless transfer options to Manchester, the United States, and Canada.

“Following the relaunch of services from Islamabad to Heathrow earlier this year, this new flight from Lahore represents our continued investment in Pakistan, and we look forward to welcoming our customers on board,” said Birger.

British Airways resumed its flight operations to Pakistan last year in June after a decade.

After the British Airways re-launched its flight operations, several foreign airlines had shown interest in launching their services from Pakistan.

Last month, Virgin Atlantic, a British international airline, has announced to start flight operations for Pakistan. The airline announced on its official Twitter handle.

The flights will operate from London and Manchester to Pakistan. According to the initial report, the airline will offer three routes to the passenger: From Manchester to Islamabad, London Heathrow to Lahore, and London Heathrow to Islamabad. The sales will resume from September but flight operations will start at the end of the year — by December 2020.
