A nineteen-year-old Cadet Arifullah of the Pakistan Army was martyred in an attempt to save the lives of the people during a terrorist attack on the mosque in Lakki Marwat.
The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) reported that the 19-year-old cadet, Arifullah, was on leave in his hometown at the time of the attack.
The assailants opened fire on the worshippers during the maghrib prayer in the mosque. Cadet Arifullah bravely responded to the attack and engaged the terrorists to save the people in the mosque. However, he lost his life while trying to save the people.
The ISPR’s statement condemned the attack as a cowardly act against worshippers, emphasizing that such heinous actions reveal the true ideology of the militants.
“As soon as Khwarij started firing, he immediately responded and fought the Khwarij bravely,” it stated.
“However, during the incident, Gentleman Cadet Arif Ullah embraced martyrdom, sacrificing his life, while saving many innocent lives of worshippers.”
Cadet Arifullah was under training at the Kakul Military Academy. “[The] valiant act of a young Gentleman Cadet is a testament of spirit of sacrifice and dedication of Security Forces’ personnel to eliminate the menace of terrorism from the country and such sacrifices further strengthen our resolve,” it added.

President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif condemned the terrorist attack on a mosque and paid tribute to the sacrifices of the martyred Cadet Arifullah.
“Attacking the places of worship was a very cowardly and un-Islamic act”.
PM Shehbaz, in a separate statement, noted that Cadet Arif Ullah set an example of courage and bravery by thwarting the cowardly attack on innocent worshippers.
Pakistan is witnessing a surge in the terrorist attacks. Earlier in the day, ten personnel of the Frontier Constabulary embraced martyrdom during an attack on the check post in Dera Ismail Khan. Interior Minister Spokesperson informed that terrorists attacked with heavy weapons on late Thursday night.
