Case filed against woman for slapping traffic police officer

According to the reports, the woman is being described as the sister of a high-ranking armed force officer. The case was filed after SSP South Asad Raza took notice of the incident.

A case has been registered against the woman for slapping and beating a traffic police officer DSP Traffic Ishtiaq Hussain Arain in Karachi. A video of the woman fighting with an elderly police officer went viral on social media.

The traffic police officer had stopped the car of the woman with fancy number plates and tinted glasses. The woman started fighting and asked her husband not to stop and drive away.  She get down from the car to clear the way as the Police officer tried to stop the car. The woman ended up slapping the elderly officer.

The woman received flak on social media for disrespecting the elderly police officer on duty publicly. Netizens believed the woman abused her privilege and that a case must be filed against her immediately and should be punished for her offense.

As per the FIR, the case has been registered against Anam and her brother Asad who assaulted the police officer. The FIR states, “The policeman was talking to the driver (her husband) when the woman got out of her car and misbehaved with the policeman.

“The woman abused and slapped the DSP Traffic,” it added.

It further read that a police officer was standing at PIDC due to VVIP movement around 9 am. The woman’s vehicle was stopped for breaking the signal and being reckless.

A video statement of the police officer appeared on social media. DSP said that the woman assaulted him and kept saying that her brother is a highly-ranked officer in an armed force. He added that they returned to the police station to sort out the matter. The DSP said that he can forgive them for the personal harm and humiliation caused to him, but he cannot forgive them for assaulting an on-duty police officer.
