Research and Analysis Wing (RAW) is formally described as India’s premier intelligence agency. Theoretically, it is an external intelligence agency like CIA or MI6, but in practice its operational reach and remit are unlimited, it has no internal or external boundaries, has massive budgets, and is not accountable to the Indian parliament.
