Imran criticized the state of cricket in Pakistan, a sport he said was once popular but had been ruined by government favorites. “Our team didn’t make it to the top four or top eight in the T20 World Cup. Yesterday, Pakistan lost to Bangladesh,” he said.
Referring to the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi, he added, “After Naqvi’s interference, we also lost to Bangladesh.” He noted that just two and a half years ago, Pakistan had defeated India by 10 wickets in the 2021 T20 World Cup and questioned what had changed since then.
Imran also expressed concern about the deteriorating law and order situation in the country, particularly in Balochistan and Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P), where people and policemen were being martyred daily. He criticized the current government, describing it as a “Form-47 government” that was incapable of implementing reforms or reducing government expenditures, stating that only a government with a public mandate could achieve this.

When asked about reports of a meeting between PTI leader Azam Swati and him in jail following contact between Mohsin Naqvi and K-P Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur, Imran dismissed the government as being built on lies. He asserted that he had no connection with the establishment, and if there were any talks with them, it would only be for the sake of the country and the Constitution. He also mentioned that the government was attempting to suppress even discussions about internet disruptions.
