The demand was made during an emergency meeting of the executive committee of JUI-S held in Akora Kahttak on Monday.
CCTV footage from the surroundings of Maulana Sami’s residence in Bahria Town, Rawalpindi was not enough to identify the culprits.
Maulana Hamidul Haq has reportedly stated that Afghan intelligence agency was behind his father’s murder. Media could not reach out to the incumbent JUI-S leader as he is still mourning his father’s death.
Son of Gen. Hameed Gul who himself was attacked on Islamabad Expressway the same day Maulana Sami was assassinated has categorically stated CIA was behind the attack on him and the murder of Maulana Sami. However, these assertions could not be verified by independent sources.

Certain sections of media have also indicated that Indian Intelligence Agency RAW might also be behind the assassination of Maulana Samiul Haq since RAW is working hand in hand with NSD to destabilize Pakistan.
However, Punjab Information Minster Fayyazul Hassan Chohan while talking to the media stated that the evidence from the crime scene indicates that this assassination might be due to personal grudges or family feud and not something more sinister.
However, all these claims cannot be verified independently. The only way to get to the masterminds of this heinous crime is to arrest those who killed Maulana in his home. The government must leave no stone unturned to make sure that the culprits are brought to justice.
