Army Chief General Asim Munir honors Pakistan’s Gold Medalist Arshad Nadeem at the Paris Olympics 2024 in a ceremony held at GHQ.
Arshad Nadeem has won a Gold Medal in Javelin after his record-breaking throw of 92.97 m. The event was attended by the Sports team and National Hockey Team and other notable figures, reads a statement issued by ISPR.
“The event was attended by sports teams and legendary Olympians including 1984 Olympic and National Hockey Teams, National Cricket Team, Street Football Team, Army Polo Team, Visually Impaired Cricket and Women Goal Ball Teams, Medal Winners of Common Wealth, SAF and Asian Games and participants of Paris Olympics 2024,” the ISPR added.
Notable figures included Jehangir Khan, Isalah ud Din, Muhammad Asif, Aisam-ul-Haq and others attended the event.

“The COAS appreciated Arshad Nadeem’s remarkable achievement of winning Pakistan’s first-ever gold medal in a singles event and setting a new Olympic record, attributing it to his commitment, perseverance, and passion for excellence. He highlighted Arshad’s inspirational journey from humble beginnings to achieving greatness, emphasizing the importance of hard work and determination,” the ISPR added.
“The COAS reaffirmed the commitment to support and empower not only sportsmen, but the entire wealth of Pakistani youth to achieve excellence towards a prosperous Pakistan. The COAS highlighted the need for Youth Engagement, Development, and Entertainment as essential cardinals of a healthy and prosperous society,” the ISPR further added.
The Olympian expressed gratitude and emphasized the potential of the youth in Pakistan. Arshad Nadeem received a grand welcome and reception upon his arrival in Pakistan. He has been receiving immense honor and has been showered with gifts and huge prize money for his prolific achievement. All the provincial governments and federal government have honored the Pakistani athlete. Arshad Nadeem vows to achieve big for Pakistan in the future as well.
