Pakistan’s Chief of Army Staff (COAS), General Qamar Javed Bajwa, has been honored with Bahrain Order by Crown Prince Salman bin Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa on Friday. The award has been presented to Gen Bajwa in recognition of his services to strengthen Pakistan-Bahrain defense cooperation.
COAS Bajwa was on a visit to Bahrain from January 6th to 8th. Army chief on his visit met civil and military leadership of Bahrain.
Gen Bajwa held meetings with His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, Deputy Supreme Commander and Prime Minister of Bahrain His Excellency Field Marshall Sheikh Khalifa bin Ahmed Al-Khalifa. Commander-in-Chief Bahrain Defence Forces and His Royal Highness Lieutenant General Sheikh Mohammad bin Isa Al Khalifa and Commander Bahrain National Guard.

“During the meeting, matters of mutual interest, bilateral defence and security cooperation and regional security situation in the Middle East came under discussion,” a statement released by ISPR read.
The civil-military leadership of Bahrain acknowledged special relations with Pakistan and reaffirmed their support for the country. They also wish to further strengthen their ties.
According to the reports, COAS also witnessed the closing ceremony of the Pak-Bahrain joint military exercise, Al BADR at Sakhir Camp.
Gen Bajwa lauded the standards of military training of Bahrain security forces and the results of joint exercises. He asserted that the joint military exercises reflect the resolve of Bahrain and Pakistan against terrorism.
Inter-Services Public Relations released a video of the visit of COAS Bajwa to Bahrain on its official YouTube account on Thursday.

The video features moments of COAS Bajwa receiving the highest military award of Bahrain. He is expected to return to Pakistan today.
