Coke studio’s Pasoori becomes most googled song of 2022

Google has revealed its "Year in Search" for 2022, and the chart-topping song by Sethi and Gill from "Coke Studio" has topped the list of most-searched songs on the international search engine.

The “Coke Studio” hit song “Pasoori” by Ali Sethi and Shae Gill has risen to the top of Google’s list of trending searches for 2022.

Google has revealed its “Year in Search” for 2022, and the chart-topping song by Sethi and Gill from “Coke Studio” has topped the list of most-searched songs on the international search engine. This song has seen record-breaking numbers on numerous social and streaming platforms, in addition to countless renditions and reel recreations around the world.

‘Pasoori’ comes in at No. 2 on the list of the “Top 5 Songs,” only behind the Indonesian pop song “Tak Ingin Usai” by Keisya Levronka. The following songs received the top three spots: “Mixed Nuts” by J-Pop group Hige Dandism, “Satru 2” by the Indonesian duet Denny Caknan and Happy Asmara, and “Glimpse of Us” by Japanese rapper Joji.

Moreover, in Google’s ‘Hum to Search’ category, ‘Pasoori’ is the most hummed song in the list of 5, for the ongoing year. The Pakistani track is followed by equally blockbuster ‘Butter’ by K-Pop septet BTS in the second position.

Indian singer Aditya A’s popular numbers ‘Chaand Baaliyan’, and ‘Heat Waves’ by
English rock band Glass Animals and ‘Enemy’ by pop rock crew Imagine Dragons, rounded off the list.

Coke Studio producer Xulfi took to Instagram to commemorate the achievement. “Can’t thank the universe enough. Just can’t. And can’t thank all of you, the people, enough too,” he wrote. “Thank you all from the bottom of my heart for giving us your love, your attention and your kindness that made our, your Coke Studio’s ‘Pasoori’ the most Googled song in the world in 2022.”

Commenting on the songs ‘Pasoori’ overtook, he said, “Surreal knowing that BTS is second in the list. It’s a music act we researched before the season. And then Imagine Dragons, one of my favorite music acts, is on the list too. Just unbelievable. Congratulations team.”

‘Pasoori’ singers Ali Sethi and Shae Gill also shared the news on their Instagram accounts. “So grateful,” wrote Gill.
