Coldplay to make history at Wembley Stadium

The band will perform ten nights at Wembley, shattering the previous records and setting a new benchmark in the venue’s storied history.

Coldplay is set to make history next year by becoming the first band ever to perform ten nights at London’s iconic Wembley Stadium during a single tour. The band’s Music of the Spheres world tour, which has already mesmerized fans globally, will return to the UK for a record-breaking stint in 2025. With this feat, Coldplay will surpass the previous record of eight shows at Wembley, held by Taylor Swift and Take That.

Unprecedented Demand Leads to Extended Shows

Initially, Coldplay planned for six nights at Wembley Stadium in August 2025, but overwhelming demand during a fan-only presale prompted them to add four additional shows. The band made the exciting announcement via their Instagram handle, revealing that the extra performances would take place on September 7 and 8, 2025. In total, the band will perform ten nights at Wembley, shattering the previous records and setting a new benchmark in the venue’s storied history.

Fans are eagerly anticipating the extended stay, and tickets for the new dates will soon be available. Coldplay’s fanbase showed their dedication during the presale, selling out the initial six dates within minutes. The general ticket sale is set to begin at 9 AM on September 27, 2024, with prices starting at £20, ensuring affordability for all fans.

Coldplay’s Stand on Ticket Pricing

One standout feature of Coldplay’s 2025 Wembley shows is their decision to avoid Ticketmaster’s dynamic pricing model. Many major acts, including Taylor Swift, have used dynamic pricing, which adjusts ticket prices based on demand. However, Coldplay has opted to keep prices fixed at the advertised rate. This decision has been praised by fans who are increasingly frustrated by skyrocketing ticket prices for major tours.

To further counter rising ticket costs, Coldplay has introduced “Infinity Tickets.” These £20 tickets, sold in pairs, offer fans a chance to sit anywhere in the venue, including prime seating sections, making the concerts accessible to a wider audience.

Milestone for Coldplay and a New Album

The 2025 tour dates coincide with the release of Coldplay’s tenth album, Moon Music, which is scheduled to drop on October 4, 2024. The album, which has generated considerable buzz, is expected to showcase the band’s evolving sound and creativity. Frontman Chris Martin has hinted that this could be a turning point in the band’s journey. While he previously suggested their “last proper record” would release in 2025, Martin has since clarified that the band plans to release two more albums, aiming for a total of 12 albums before potentially winding down their career.

In addition to their Wembley shows, Coldplay will also perform at Hull’s Craven Park Stadium in August 2025. Notably, 50% of tickets for these Hull shows will be allocated to local residents, and 10% of the proceeds will go to the Music Venue Trust, an organization supporting grassroots music venues across the UK.

Coldplay’s Commitment to Sustainability

Beyond their musical achievements, Coldplay continues to make headlines for their commitment to environmental sustainability. The band has reduced its carbon emissions by 59% compared to their previous tour, an impressive feat that aligns with their long-standing dedication to environmental causes. This sustainability effort has become a hallmark of the Music of the Spheres tour, which incorporates eco-friendly practices at every level of production.

Coldplay’s ten-night residency at Wembley Stadium will solidify their place in music history. The band’s previous six-night run in 2022 already earned them a spot among the venue’s legendary performers, but this new record will elevate them even further. Fans and critics alike are eagerly awaiting the 2025 shows, which promise to be a spectacular conclusion to Coldplay’s Music of the Spheres era.
