Completely confident to be released soon: Imran Khan

Khan said that he will aim to fight for free speech if he becomes the chancellor of Oxford University. He added that if elected, he would be the first chancellor of the university from outside the UK.

Imran Khan in his latest interview with the international publication, The Times, says he is expressed he will be released from prison soon.

He pitched himself as the perfect candidate to become the Chancellor of Oxford University in the published article. Imran Khan talked about his diverse career and his expertise which makes him the best fit to head the institution. He said that he is different from other candidates as he holds a versatile portfolio- as a cricketer, philanthropist and administrator.

Khan said that he will aim to fight for free speech if he becomes the chancellor of Oxford University. He added that if elected, he would be the first chancellor of the university from outside the UK. Former Prime Minister Imran Khan said it would give a positive message globally, adding to the honor of the university.

Imran Khan became the prime minister of Pakistan in 2018, however, was removed from office at the beginning of 2022 following a Vote of No Confidence. Imran Khan is hopeful of winning the Oxford University election. He has now been in jail for more than a year. His party won overwhelmingly despite all the blockages in the February 8th elections this year.

His party, PTI, has been actively fighting court cases vehemently for the past year. His voters and supporters are now waiting for his release.

Jailed Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan sharply criticized the judiciary-centric constitutional package, which remains largely undisclosed. Speaking informally with journalists at Adiala Jail in Rawalpindi on Monday, Khan claimed that the ruling coalition is pushing for constitutional amendments to ensure he remains imprisoned.

“These new amendments will ruin the country’s future,” Khan warned. He further accused the government of trying to dismantle the judiciary, stating, “They have decided to destroy the judiciary.”
