On September 25, a video began circulating on Pakistani social media showing a salesman at a donut shop in Islamabad secretly recording himself while behaving inappropriately towards the Chief Justice of Pakistan and his family.
Shortly after, a picture of a “sealed” sign outside the shop was shared online, with claims that the store had been shut down on the orders of the chief justice. However, this claim is false.

The Claim: On September 26, a social media user alleged that Crusteez Donuts in Islamabad had been sealed a few days after a worker “verbally abused” Chief Justice Qazi Faez Isa. The post has garnered over 23,000 views and 300 likes. Contrary to the claim, Crusteez Donuts, where the incident took place, has not been shut down. The picture showing the shop as sealed is actually from September 11, unrelated to the recent incident.
Farhan Ahmed, an assistant commissioner in Islamabad, confirmed to Geo Fact Check that the two events — the video involving the chief justice and the sealing of the donut shop — are unrelated.
“The incident with the chief justice occurred at the Blue Area branch of Crusteez, likely over the summer,” said Ahmed. “The shop we sealed on September 11 was in the F6 area of Islamabad.” The F6 branch was sealed due to violations related to dengue prevention.

This was further confirmed by a post on X (formerly Twitter) from the deputy commissioner of Islamabad, who shared an image on September 11 showing the F6 branch being sealed for failing to comply with dengue SOPs. The shop was reopened shortly after. Ahmed also referenced an August notification enforcing Section 144 in Islamabad, allowing authorities to act against establishments with conditions conducive to the spread of dengue mosquitoes.
A salesman at the Blue Area branch also confirmed to Geo Fact Check that the store remains open and is operating as usual.
