CSS officer grabs attention for posting video of the raid on social media

CSS officer is being slammed on Twitter for posting the video of the raid on his social media. The Assistant Commissioner showed his raid as his first assignment being a CSS officer.

The social media post of the Assistant Commissioner is garnering mixed responses on Twitter. A score of netizens thinks that a CSS officer should have not posted his professional activities on social media. He should focus on his work and must not engage himself in activities that will distract his attention.

CSS officer Osama Hamid posted a video of conducting a raid on tax collection. In the caption of the Instagram post, he wrote: “Integration with the POS system is a vital part of collecting taxes.” He also urged his followers to be mindful of collecting FBR POS receipts. “Always request an FBR POS receipt when paying, so that you know where your taxes are going,” said AC Osama Hamid.

Twitter user Ailia Zehra posted the screenshot from the video of the Assistant Commissioner. She demanded that the CSS system should be abolished in Pakistan. The post triggered debate in which many said there is no harm if the CSS officer is posting his assignments and achievements on social media.

Others said that it is difficult to alienate CSS officers and bureaucrats from social media hence they should be trained regarding the use of social media.  A user said that currently there is no law stopping them from posting such stuff hence they should be allowed to do so.

Ailia Zehra received flak for unnecessary criticism of the CSS officer. Some negated her advice of abolishing the CSS system. Others asked for an overhaul change and modification in the existing CSS system of Pakistan that supports the bureaucracy of Pakistan. A majority of users spoke in favor of the CSS officer Osama Hamid.
