Bollywood shook with the news of the death of Indian singer, Wajid Khan. He passed away on the wee hours of Monday morning on June 1st, 2020. The 42-year-old singer breathed his last at Surana Hospital at Chembur. Conflicting reports regarding the reasons for his death are circulating on social media. However, the singer from the famous duo Sajid-Wajid was suffering from multiple health complications.

According to a report, the singer was admitted to the hospital due to kidney complications. But died due to cardiac arrest, said his brother Sajid. Yet another news source also says, Wajid Khan, tested positive for COVID-19 as well.
The death of Wajid Khan turned out to be another tragic news for Bollywood. Earlier in April, Bollywood was struck with the news of the death of two veteran actors-Rishi Kapoor and Irrfan Khan back-to-back.

Music composer Salim Merchant added, “He had multiple issues. He had a kidney issue and had a transplant a while ago. But recently he got to know about kidney infection… He was on the ventilator for the last four days, after his situation started getting worse. Kidney infection was the beginning and then he got critical,” Salim said.
Meanwhile, Indian singer Sonu Nigam broke the devastating news on social media. Also, other Bollywood celebrities including Adnan Sami and Salman Khan expressed grief on the death of Wajid Khan.
Even Rahat Fateh Ali Khan has expressed sorrow. He shared a picture with the Bollywood singer on Twitter account. I have just lost my brother today. Wajid Bhai was more than a friend and a composer to me. May Allah Bless him Jannat. Ameen,” Rahat captioned the picture. Later he shared a video in which he talked about the Wajid Khan.

Pakistani celebrity remembers Wajid Khan
Adnan Siddiqui also remembered Wajid Khan in a social media post. Adnan wrote, “Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji’un. The deepest loss of 2020 for me personally and for the years to come. I lost my brother and a very, very dear friend Wajid.
“Wajid, my brother, not done. There were many more conversations left Bhai. Gone too soon, am shattered beyond repair,” said Wajid.

He said both Sajid and Wajid took care of him during his stay in Mumbai. He recalled the duo took him out for Sehri in Mumbai. They invited him to their home. Where their mother had cooked Nihari for them. He said he regrets not visiting them again after returning to Pakistan. But their bond became stronger over the years, wrote Adnan Siddiqui.

Sajid–Wajid was an Indian Bollywood Hindi film music director duo consisting of brothers Sajid Khan and Wajid Khan, the sons of Ustad Sharafat Ali Khan, a tabla player. They are a part of Bollywood for more than two decades. Sajid-Wajid made their Bollywood debut with Salman Khan’s movie Pyaar Kia Toh Darna Kia In 1998. In 1999, they scored music for Sonu Nigam’s album Deewaana. While they composed music for several other movies, they mostly composed music for Salman Khan’s movie.

Hence Wajid Khan shared a deep bond with Salman Khan. They were mentors on the reality shows Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Singing Superstar, Sa Re Ga Ma Pa 2012 and composed title track for television reality shows Bigg Boss 4 and Bigg Boss 6, Sajid–Wajid had also composed IPL 4 theme song “Dhoom Dhoom Dhoom Dhadaka”, with Wajid singing the title track.

A close bond with Salman Khan
Since Wajid composed music for Salman Khan’s movie, he shared a close bond with the actor. He has composed and sung songs for some of Salman Khan’s movies including Garv’, ‘Tere Naam’, ‘Tumko Na Bhool Payenge’, ‘Partner’, ‘Ek Tha Tiger’, ‘Mujhse Shaadi Karoge’ and his superhit ‘Dabangg’ franchise.
