Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan cleared the air regarding the release of eight Indian nationals caught in Qatar over espionage charges.
Eight Indian nationals, and Indian navy personnel, were caught in espionage charges in Qatar last year. The caught Indian citizens were found guilty of offense and were sentenced to death.
Former Rajya Sabha MP Subramanian Swamy claimed that superstar Shah rukh Khan helped the Indian government in the release of Indian citizens in Qatar.
“Modi should take Cinema star Sharuk Khan to Qatar with him since after MEA and NSA had failed to persuade the Shiekhs of Qatar, Modi pleaded with Khan to intervene and thus got an expensive settlement from the Qatar Shiekhs to free our Naval officers (sic),” Swamy said in reply to Indian PM Narendra Modi’s post on X.
Narendra Modi embarking on the two days to Middle East said that, Over the next two days, I will be visiting UAE and Qatar to attend various programmes, which will deepen India’s bilateral relations with these nations.
