Months after his viral videos sparked controversy, Rapid Response Force Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Azfar Mahesar’s son, Asher Mahesar, is embroiled in another scandal. He is accused of injuring a woman in a car accident while allegedly intoxicated.

Police report that Asher, accompanied by two Rapid Response Force personnel in a government vehicle, struck a woman in Karachi’s Garden area, leaving her seriously injured. Eyewitnesses claim that Asher was under the influence, and the accompanying gunmen fired shots into the air to disperse a crowd that gathered at the scene.

Asher, along with DIG Mahesar’s nephew Mubashir Raza and the two personnel, has been taken into custody, while the injured woman is receiving treatment at Civil Hospital.
Last year, Asher faced criticism after videos of him brandishing firearms and firing into the air at various locations went viral. At the time, DIG Mahesar dismissed the controversy as propaganda and defended his son against allegations of wrongdoing.
