Disgruntled PTI MNA returns to PM Khan?

Ahmad Hussain Deharr's recent statements are in stark contrast to his earlier ones. Previously, the MNA had said that he will remain absent on the voting day of a no-trust motion against Prime Minister Imran Khan.

In an unprecedented move, it appears that a disgruntled PTI MNA is making their way back to PM Khan. PTI MNA Malik Ahmad Hussain Deharr said on Friday that he supports the prime minister in the no-trust vote.

Talking to the media after the National Assembly (NA) session, Hussain Deharr said he is part of the government and will soon meet PM Khan to resolve some issues. He said there are some conditions that PM Imran Khan will fulfill. He also said that he will attend the NA session.

“I will be attending the session of the National Assembly,” PTI MNA Ahmad Hussain Deharr.

Ahmad Hussain Deharr’s recent statements are in stark contrast to his earlier ones. Previously, the MNA had said that he will remain absent on the voting day of a no-trust motion against Prime Minister Imran Khan. In the same interview, he also said that he will support Imran Khan.

Pertinent to mention, earlier this month, several PTI MNAs were found to be staying at the Sindh House. This caused quite the storm as it revealed the MNAs’ tilt towards the Opposition. Moreover, PM Khan had claimed that the Sindh House is a hub for horse-trading.

Shortly after, Ahmed Hussain gave an interview to a private media channel where he criticized PM Khan and Chief Minister Usman Buzdar. He said PM Khan’s conduct forced him to change loyalties.

PTI served show-cause notices to the dissident MNAs, including Ahmad Hussain Deharr, demanding an explanation. On the other hand, PTI also urged all the rebel MNAs to return to seek forgiveness and return to the party.

PTI MNAs to return?

This is indeed a major development. As Islamabad awaits the no-confidence motion by the Opposition, the entire focus is on the number game. The Opposition claims that it has the complete number, especially due to the dissident PTI MNAs.

Meanwhile, the PTI government remains calm and continuously hints that it will give a surprise to the Opposition on its 27th March power show. Furthermore, PTI has claimed that some of the defectors are also back.

A few days ago, Information Minister Fawad Chaudhry said seven defecting members of PTI had returned. Today, the Minister made similar claims while talking to the media after the National Assembly session.

Fawad Chaudhry said that they are in touch with four dissident PTI MNAs and Afzal Khan Dhandla will announce his return in a press conference today.

“We are hopeful that four more people will return,” Fawad Chaudhry said.

On the other hand, three opposition members of the National Assembly didn’t attend a meeting of the joint opposition at the Parliament House on Friday. The three opposition lawmakers who were absent from the meeting included PPP’s Jam Abdul Karim and Jamaat-e-Islami’s Abdul Kaber Chitrali. The third MNA belongs to the PML-N. Of the total 162 opposition MNAs, 159 attended the meeting.
