Dr. Faisal Sultan, PM Khan’s trusted man, appointed focal person for coronavirus

Dr. Faisal Sultan will also make recommendations for the resource creation for care and treatment of individuals suffering from coronavirus. The addition of Dr. Faisal Sultan, PM Khan's most trusted man is anticipated to shore up the efforts of Pakistan to contain the looming severity of coronavirus outbreak in Pakistan.

Dr. Faisal Sultan, the CEO of Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital, has been appointed as the Prime Minister Imran Khan’s focal person for coronavirus in the country.

Tania Aidrus shared a notification announcing the appointment of Faisal Sultan as the lead and focal person of PM Khan for coronavirus in the country.

“Dr. Sultan will reach out to all the stakeholders to get their input and recommend steps that can be taken for the prevention of the disease on the basis available data,” it added.

Dr. Faisal Sultan will also make recommendations for the resource creation for care and treatment of individuals suffering from coronavirus.

 

The notification informed that Dr. Faisal Sultan will establish a group of experts that will provide recommendations on improving Pakistan’s response to fight pandemic coronavirus in the country and give solutions to NCC to ramp up its efforts against the outbreak of an epidemic.

Tania Aidrus added that she is looking forward to working with the newly-appointed focal person, Dr. Faisal Sultan.

She also urged people to come together to fight against COVID-19, “Please do your bit by staying home and staying safe to support the government in eradicating this menace!” wrote Tania Aidrus the head of PM Khan’s Digital Pakistan initiative.

Meanwhile, Dr. Zafar Mirza, Federal Minister for Health is actively leading a relentless fight across the country and ensuring the effective implementation of safety protocols nationwide to control the spread of coronavirus in the country.

Earlier, Dr. Zafar Mirza presented the latest development regarding the ongoing efforts to contain COVID-19.

“The number of coronavirus patients reaches 1022 in Pakistan. Overall 21 patients have recovered and eight people infected with the virus have passed away so far. The virus infects 64 percent male and 26 percent female COVID patients across the country. Five patients are critical while most of the patients aged between 25 to 40.”
